1869: The Union Pacific's No. 3 and No. 4 Mines at Carbon, Wyoming

Page by Bob Leathers
The Union Pacific's Carbon No. 3 and No. 4 Underground Mines were test mines developed in 1869. The only coal produced was an amount sufficient to locate and prove the coal seam. No fatalities were found in the No. 3 or No. 4 Mines.
