1929 – 1936 Coal Production Years
The Colorado Coal Corporation's Red Mountain underground mine - located south of Hanna in the Elk Moutain area - started coal production in 1929. The company abandoned the mine in 1936. The mine produced 16,942 tons of coal over a 7 year period with a peak of 12 workers in 1932. No deaths were reported in the Red Mountain mine at Kent, Wyoming.
