Hanna Sawmill

Notes from Bob Leathers

1960

The Hanna Sawmill was owned and operated by R. R. Crow and Company. It was located south of town near the Union Pacific Coal Company's No. 6 mine. The mill used the same railroad tracks as the Union Pacific Coal Company did to move their coal. The company had sawmills in Hanna, Saratoga and Encampment. Most of Hanna's logs came from the Medicine Bow Forest, south of Hanna, above the town of  Elk Mountain.
