- May 4, 2019
Union Pacific’s historic steam locomotives -- Big Boy No. 4014 and the Living Legend No. 844 -- arrived in Laramie just after 1 p.m. on Saturday. Hundreds of people packed Depot Park, the Laramie Historic Railroad Depot and the footbridge over the railroad tracks to get a look at the massive steam engines on their tour of the Union Pacific system throughout 2019 to commemorate the transcontinental railroad's 150th anniversary. The train left Laramie Saturday for Medicine Bow and then Rawlins for two more stops. (Laramie Boomerang, May 4, 2019)
