Note: The community of Hanna was saddened by the death of Donna Jean Anderson, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. James Anderson, who met her death by drowning in the Platte River on June 12th. Her body was found on June 18th by her father.
Donna Jean was born in Cheyenne on June 5, 1930, where she spent most of her life until the past year. She attended the fifth grade in Hanna Public School in 1940-1941. Funeral services were held at St. John’s Episcopal Church on June 22nd, with Father H.M. Kellam officiating, and interment at Hanna cemetery. Donna Jean leaves to mourn her passing her parents, Mr. and Mrs James Anderson, her grandparents, Mrs. Minnie Clinton, of Rawlins, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anderson, of Hanna, also aunts and uncles and a host of friends. Her father is employed in Hanna Mine No. 4. (UPCCEM, August 1941)
