Finnish Women’s Gymnastics Club of Hanna
The Review printed this oldtime photo in a Dec. 31, 1980 edition and, during the next week, we received the following letter from Cheyenne. We thought the contents of this letter might be of interest to our readers. “Dear Sir….In regards to the picture on page three of last week’s Energy Basin Review. I recognized it as of the Finnish Women’s Gymnastics Club of Hanna. The picture was probably taken around 1920 or before. The first lady to the left is Mrs. Lily Wist, a longtime Hanna resident. The fifth lady is an aunt of mine and next to her is Mrs. Vanne who was a neighbor of ours when we lived in “One Town” on the south side in Hanna. My cousin, Onnie Saxberg, showed me this same picture when we visited him in Seattle this past summer, but we could not remember the other women in the picture - Wayne M. Eskeli (We thank Mr. Eskeli for the letter and Mrs. Betts Ashmore for giving us the photo used Dec. 31.)
