2023 Visit Review:
- The Fremont County Pioneer Museum is well worth the visit. It is an excellent larger size museum. No entry fee was required, but donations were acceptable. Pictures were allowed – no restrictions except for one small section of Indian art work. The staff was knowledgeable, curtious and helpful. A solid collection of artifacts was offered that represented and explained the area’s history which centered around agriculture and western living. The exhibits were interesting and well-presented. It had a large section of outside buildings and exhibits.

The featured exhibit in the Fremont County Pioneer Museum was the Harvey Morgan display.
Alas, poor Harvey!
On June 27, 1870 Harvey Morgan, a 25 year old rancher and gold prospector, and his two companions,
Dr. R. S. Barr (local Justice of the Peace) and Jerome Mason, were attacked and killed by a band of Sioux, Cheyenne and Arapaho warriors. (Fremont County Pioneer Museum)
