Note: The community of Hanna was saddened by the sudden death of LaVonne Bedford, who passed away on April 3rd, after an illness of a few days. Ethel LaVonne Bedford was the youngest daughter of Mr. And Mrs. R. L. Bedford, Old Timers with the Coal Company. Born in Hanna on July 11, 1928, she attended the Hanna school and was in the Junior class, taking an active part in school affairs. She was a member of the church of the Latter-Day Saints. Funeral services were performed by Bishop Lyman Fearn, assisted by Elders James and Tate, at the Methodist Church, on April 8th, interment in Hanna cemetery. Pall bearers were Geo. Wilkes, James Bamber, Joe Hinek, Joe Evans, Joe Sandoval, and F. J. DeForest.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her mother and father; one sister, Mrs. Richard Warrick, of Craig, Colorado; and three brothers, Ernest and Roy, of Hanna, and Sgt. John Bedford, of Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. William Tate, of Ogden; James Tate, of Idaho Springs; Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Evans, of Walden, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Heinek and Thelma Wilson, of Rawlins; Miss Letha Fearn, of Medicine Bow; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Warrick and daughter, of Craig, Colorado; Sgt.
