Roy L. Bedford, Sr., of Hanna, was awarded the grand prize of a $1,000 Series G fully paid up War Bond. Mr. Bedford became employed with the Union Pacific Railroad and continued working until 1905 when he entered the service of the Union Pacific Coal Company at Rock Springs as a master mechanic, and worked until March 1908. He returned again in 1911 to work as a machinist in the Hanna Shops and has had continuous service ever since. He received his gold button for forty years of service in 1942. (UPCCEM, October 1945)

He came to the Union Pacific Coal Company in Rock Springs in 1905, and in the same year went to Hanna. Mr. Bedford served as Deputy Sheriff at Hanna, and is employed at present in the Hanna Machine Shop. He is a man with a family, three sons and two daughters. (UPCCEM, July 1942)
