Life Story
1900 November 23: Joseph "Joe" Evans was born in Carbon County, Wyoming to John S. and Mary Ann (Jones) Evans.
1900 Sept. 16: Katherine Evans was born in Hanna, Wyoming.
1924 June 23: Katherine Wertheim married Joseph Evans in Rawlins, Wyoming.
1930: Joe and Katherine were living in ElkMountain, Wyoming.
1940: Joe and Katherine were living in ElkMountain, Wyoming.
1975 October 17: Joe died in Hanna, Wyoming at age 74. He was buried in the Hanna, Wyoming cemetery in plot 428.
1994 February 4: Katherine Evans, age 93, died in Valley View Villa Nursing Home in Fort Morgan, Colorado. She was buried in the Hanna, Wyoming cemetery next to her husband Joseph "Joe" Evans in plot 428.
They had four children in 10 years.

Note: KATHERINE (WERTHEIM) EVANS - Rawlins - Funeral services for Katherine Wertheim Evans were Monday, Feb. 14, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanna with the Rev. Ray Moss officiating. Interment was in the Hanna Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans, 93, died in Valley View Villa Nursing Home in Fort Morgan, Colo., Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1994.
She was born Sept. 16, 1900 in Hanna.
She was raised in Hanna and Elk Mountain and attended high school in Cheyenne. She attended college at St. Mary’s of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. Following college, she returned to Elk Mountain where she worked for the Elk Mountain Trading Company. She married Joseph Evans on June 23, 1924 in Rawlins. They later moved to Hanna. He died Oct. 17, 1975. She moved to Fort Morgan in 1976 to be near her daughter.
She was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Wales, Fort Morgan, Mrs. Patricia McArdle, Riddle, Ore., and Mary Yvonne Schroeder of Glenrock; one sister, Mrs. Nan Stanton of Lamarque, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, John Evans, in 1984, two brothers and one sister. (Rock Springs Daily Rocket-Miner, Feb 19, 1994)
