Note:  William Freeman, Old Timer, Dies - The community of Hanna was again saddened on December 26th when William Freeman, another old timer, passed away at his home. He had been ailing for several months and had been to Cheyenne for a short time before, where he received medical attention. William Freeman was born on June 4, 1889, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He came to Hanna in 1908, where he was employed in the Company Store as butcher; later he was employed in the mine. He was married to Catherine Jones of Hanna in 1909. Mr. Freeman was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church on December 30 with Rev. A. Maxwell officiating and interment was made in the Hanna cemetery. Pall-bearers were Robert Cummings, Lynn Smith, John Reese, James Bamber, George Wales and W.A. Briggs. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, six sons, Corporal Wm. Freeman serving in England, Dave and Joe Freeman of Sinclair, Tom Freeman of Rawlins, and James and Robert of Hanna, and four daughters, Mrs. Alex Pascoe, Mrs. Jack Ligeros, and Margaret of Hanna, and Mrs. H. Brewer of Evanston, Wyoming; also seven grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers.
