Note: James McArdle was born May 11, 1899 in Blackpoole, Lancashire, England. He died September 23, 1978 and was buried in the Hanna cemetery in Plot 33. He married Gladys (Sykes) Crawshaw in 1929 in Hanna. His father was Andrew McArdle and mother was Elizabeth Dragger. Blackpoole is about 10 miles from Preston, Lancashire, England. James and his parents moved to Chorley about 1900. James arrived in the U.S. on Oct. 17, 1919 at age 20. He was going to stay with his Aunt, Mary Harrison in Hanna. (LBMD)
