Note: Mildred Mellor Passes Away - Mildred Mellor, former member of the Mountain Elks Senior Girl scouts, which carried off the palm at the 1932 First Aid Contest in this city, died at the family residence in Hanna, April 30. It appears she had undergone an appendectomy some two weeks previously and was presumed to be making a fine recovery. The remains were interred in the local cemetery, service in charge of Rev. A.D. Wilson. She was the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Charles Mellor. Mildred graduated from High School in 1932, was a member of the Drum Corps and the Pythian Sisters. She was born at Hanna and spent her entire life there. Her lovable disposition and sweet smile endeared her to every person with whom she came in contact. The sympathy of the community is extended to the grief-stricken parents. (UPCCEM, June 1934)
