Louis Meyer was born November 1840 in Germany. In 1900 he was living in Carbon, Carbon, Wyoming. He was widowed at that time. He immigrated to this country in 1863 and became a Naturalized citizen. He was a Bank Cashier by occupation. He could read, write and speak English. (Ancestry) (BL)
LOUIS R. MEYER
LOUIS R. MEYER, the discoverer of the coal mines of Carbon, Dana, and Hanna, the at one time general manager of the Carbon Timber Company, President of the Carbon State Bank, Member of the State Senate, etc., etc., died at and was buried at Denver last week. Mr. Meyer was a self-made man. He was for many years superintendent of the coal mines he discovered and by close attention to business accumulated a fortune. He left a son who virtually owns the Carbon State Bank at Hanna. (The Wyoming Industrial Journal, March 1, 1908)
