Life Story
September 1872: William H. Pasco was born in Pennsylvania.
June 25, 1875: Christina Tennant was born in Pekin, Maryland to Alexander, and Mary (Gray) Tennant.
June 24, 1895: Bill Pascoe and Christina Tennant married in Hanna, Wyoming.
June 11, 1900: William Pascoe, age 27 unemployed was living with his wife Christina (Tennant) Pascoe, age 24 in house #231 in Hanna. They were married for five years. Their two children Pearl, age 3 and Anna, age 1 were living with them.
March 28, 1908: William “Bill” Pascoe, age 36, worked as a Gas Watchman in the Union Pacific Coal Company's No. 1 mine. On Saturday, March 28th, while the mine was idle, a fire crew consisting of 18 men including William entered the Number 1 mine to put out a fire burning in entry number 10. The mine exploded about three in the afternoon killing all the men in the fire crew. A rescue crew was organized and entered the mine to search for survivors. A second explosion occurred the same day about ten thirty in the evening killing an additional 41 miners. William's body was not recovered from the mine.
April 26, 1910: Christine (Tennant) Pascoe, age 34 a widow, was living with her mother Mary Tennant, age 58 a widow in house #146 in Hanna. Mary Tennant was running a boarding house at the time. Also living in the house was John Tennant, age 19, a laborer in the mine, Arthur Tennant, age 17. Also living with Mary and Christina was Christina's two children, Anna R., age 17 and Aleck, age 2. Christine (Tennant) Pascoe had four children two of which were still alive in 1910.
April 1913: Christina (Tennant) Pascoe died in Hanna, Wyoming, at the age of 37 and was buried with her children in the Hanna cemetery in the Tennant plot.
Bill and Christine Pascoe had four children together.
- Mary Pearl Pascoe (1896-1905) was born in June 1896 in Hanna, Wyoming to William and Christina (Tennant) Pascoe. She died on August 19, 1905 in Hanna at age 9 and buried in the Hanna cemetery in the Tennant plot.
- Annabelle Pasco (1898-1916) was born in August 1898 in Hanna, Wyoming to William and Christina (Tennant) Pascoe. She died in 1916 at age 18 and was buried in the Hanna, Wyoming cemetery in the Tennant plot.
- Cora Estella Pasco (1902-1907) was born on November 8, 1902, in Hanna, Wyoming to William and Christina. She died on December 1, 1907, in Hanna and was buried in the Hanna cemetery in the Tennant plot.
- Alexander James Pascoe (1906-1968) was born on June 11, 1906 in Hanna, Wyoming to William, was 33 and Christina Pascoe. He married Elizabeth Freeman and they had two sons and two daughters. He died in October 1968 in Riverton, Wyoming, at the age of 62, and was buried in Rawlins, Wyoming.

Hanna Monument: At the top of Hanna Hill stands a Memorial Monument dedicated to the men who lost their lives in the explosions of the Union Pacific Coal Company's No. 1 Mine in Hanna. The Monument also marks the area where 28 of the men - like Bill Pascoe - were killed, but not recovered and their bodies remain at the bottom of the mine.
