1819: Alexander Tennant was born in Scotland.
1829: Janet was born in Scotland.
1860 July 25: Alex, age 41, a miner, born in Scotland was living in the 4th district of Allegany County Maryland with his wife Janet, age 31, born in Scotland and their three children Alexander Tennant, age 8, born in Maryland, Jannett Tennant, age 3, born in Maryland and Isabella, age 1, born in Maryland. 1869 Nov. 11: Alexander Tennant died in Pekin, Maryland at the age of 50.
1899 January 8: Janet "Jess" Tennant died in Maryland at the age of 70.
Alexander and Janet Tennant had six children together. Janet had three sons and three daughters with Alexander Tennant between 1851 and 1867:
- Alexander Tennant (1851-1904) Born in March 1851 in Maryland. Married Mary Gray in. Pekin, Maryland. Died in 1904 in Hanna, Wyoming at the age of 53. He was buried in Hanna, Wyoming.
- Jannett Tennant (1857-1899)
- Isabelle Tennant (1859-?)
- Robert Tennant (1862-19??)
- John Tennant (1864-?)
- Jane Tennant (1867-?)
