1879 March 3: Robert Tennant was born March 3, 1879, in Frostburg, Kansas to Alexander and Mary (Gray) Tennant. (State of Wyoming, Certificate of Death, Wyoming State Archives)
1883 September: Mary Jones was born in Walton West, Pembrokeshire, Wales to David and Mary Ann (Hallier) Jones.
1886 February 5: Mary Elizabeth Brown was born in Rushville, Nebraska to William and Sarah (Clark) Brown.
1902 July 10: Robert Tennant married Mary Jones in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

1910: January 28: Robert Tennant, age 29, a laborer in the coal mine Union Pacific Coal Company's No. 2 mine and his wife Mary J. Tennant, age 27, were living in house #164 in Hanna. Living with them were their three children: Jessie Tennant, age 6; Willie Tennant, age 4 and Earl age 1. (1910 U.S. Federal Census)

1916: Mary J. Tennent died and was buried in the Tennant plot 215 in the Hanna cemetery.
Was Buried Sunday in Hanna Cemetery - Rev. E. F. Clower returned today from Hanna, where he had been to hold services on Sunday, at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon conducting the funeral of Mrs. Mary Tennant, wife of Robert Tennant and the mother of four children, who died at the hospital at Hanna on Friday. She was born in South Wales thirty-three years ago and leaves her parents, a sister and four brothers. The family have been in Carbon and Hanna for the past thirty years. Hanna Notes - Mrs. Robert Tennant went to the Great Beyond last Thursday afternoon at the Hanna hospital after a short illness of three weeks. The funeral services were held from the M. E. Church on Sunday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery. Mrs. Tennant was very well known here, having come here some 30 years ago with her parents from South Wales. She was 33 years old at the time of her death and leaves to mourn her mother, father, four brothers, one sister, a husband, five children and a host of friends, to whom we extend our sympathy. 1916: At the time of Mary's (Jones) Tennant's death, Robert's daughter, Janet "Jessie" Tennant was only 13 years old. Jessie went to live with her grandmother and grandfather David and Mary Ann (Hallier) Jones. Robert and his sons, Alex "Moon", Evan "Sleepy", William "Bill" and Earl "Weary" Tennant went to live on the north ranch with their grandmother Mary (Gray) Tennant. 1920 January 18: Robert Tennant, age 40, a laborer in the coal miner and his family were living with his mother and father-in-law, David Jones, age 59, a gas watcher in the mine and Mary Jones, age 55, in house #157 in Hanna. 1922 Nov. 18: Robert Tennant married Mary Elizabeth (Brown) (Button) at Mountain Home, Elmore, Idaho. Robert, a widower for about 6 years, married Mary (Brown) Button at Mountain Home, Elmore, Idaho. Mary was a widow of about 2 years. Mary was living at the time they met in the Leo, Wyoming area near the Tennant Ranch.
1934: September 14, Robert Tennant died when he was accidentally burned to death in a room in Elmo, Wyoming. The house he was sleeping in did not burn down. At the time of his death he was 55 years, 6 months and 4 days old. His occupation was listed as Rancher. (State of Wyoming, Certificate of Death, Wyoming State Archives)

1934 Thursday, Sept 20: Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the M. E. Church for Robert Tennant who died Thursday at Elmo, Wyoming.
His death was due to suffocation caused by smoke from a cigarette which he dropped on the bedding when he fell asleep. Robert Tennant was 55 years old and was born in Hanna. About a year ago he moved his family to Caldwell Idaho. Since April he has been visiting relatives at Leo. Thursday morning he and his wife and the two youngest children started from the ranch to return to Idaho. They had only gone a few miles when the car stalled. Mrs. Tennant went back to the ranch and he came to Hanna for repairs for the car. That evening the tragedy which caused his death happened. Besides his widow, he leaves seven [nine ?] children; Mrs. John While, William Tennant, Earl Tennant, Evan Tennant and Alex Tennant by his first marriage and Delbert, James and Lucile Tennant by his second marriage; his mother, Mrs. Alex Tennant and a sister, Mrs. John McNeese of Rawlins and three brothers, James and Arthur of Leo and John Tennant of Superior. 1940: Mary (Brown) (Button) Tennant, head of house, no occupation listed, age 55, widowed, was living in Middleton, Canyon, Idaho, in rural Idaho, she rented a house. Living with Mary was her daughter, Ellen Button, age 20, Lillian Dodge, a granddaughter, age 17, Delbert Tennant, a son, age 16, Grace Dodge, a granddaughter, age 16, James Tennant, a son, age 13, Lois Dodge, a granddaughter, age 11, Lucile Tennant, a daughter, age 10, Earl Dodge, a grandson, age 10, Lester Dodge, a grandson, age 8. 1960 October 24: Mary Elizabeth (Brown) (Button) Tennant died at St. Luke's hospital in Boise, Idaho at age 73 and was buried at Mountain Home, Idaho. She died of Cardiac arrest. (Idaho Certificate of Death)
Robert and Mary (Brown) (Button) Tennant had four children together:
- Delbert Arthur Tennant (1922 - 1999) Born May 4, 1923, in Boise, Idaho. Married Bessie Beryl October 5, 1989, in Elko, Nevada. Died September 12, 1999, in Boise, Idaho at age 76.
- James Wendle Tennant (1926 - 1987) Died March 1987 in Henderson, Nevada.
- Roberta Lucille Elizabeth Tennant. (1929 - 1976). Born June 22, 1929, in Boise Idaho. Died in 1976 in Boise, Idaho.
- Alvin Edward Button (1917 - 1963) Born April 12, 1917, in Laramie, Wyoming. Married Dorothy Atchison July 22, 1937, in Ada, Idaho. Died November 3, 1963, in Napa, Idaho. Alvin Edward Button is biologically a Tennant. (Adam Button)

- Ruby Florence Button. 1905 - 1938. Born in Hanna, Wyoming. Married Earl Dodge February 16, 1920. Died April 16, 1938 in Boise, Idaho.
- Glen Button. 1906 - 1810. Born February 27, 1905, in Hanna, Wyoming. Died October 17, 1910, in Hanna, Wyoming.
- Novel Dean Button. 1909 - 1981. Born February 13, 1909, in Laramie, Wyoming. Married Mabel Ellis Defprest pm May 12, 1932, in Elmore, Idaho. Died January 4, 1981, in Idaho.
